Kite surfing mixes paragliding and surfing. You use a large kite to fly in the air and steer it, which pulls you on a surfboard across the water using the power of the wind.

In Korea, it has been growing since 2000, mainly among enthusiasts. It's become so popular that it is even talked about for being a formal Olympic sport.

Experience the best sport that lets you enjoy the sea safely.

If you follow safety rules, kite surfing can be much safer than snowboarding or regular surfing.

It's a sport where you ride over 20 km on the sea while using the wind and jumping!

Enjoy kite surfing safely and fun by learning step by step with an instructor, while taking in the view of Seongsan Ilchulbong and Udo Island!

This is a project where you can work as a staff member at a kite surfing shop in Jeju Island and enjoy kite surfing.

We offer a variety of programs from daily experiences to beginner and regular courses in kite surfing. You will work 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, and receive training in kite surfing theory, equipment, and safety.

In your free time, you can use the shop's equipment to enjoy kite surfing in Jeju's beautiful seas.

- Assist in kite surfing theory education and experience courses.

- Respond to customer booking inquiries and manage booking schedules.

- Manage the training area and equipment.

■  Example of a daily schedule

Typically, you will work 5 days a week (days are negotiable) for 4 hours a day (morning and afternoon activities are negotiable).

■ Participation conditions

- You must work with organizations, groups, or experts in Jeju Island.

- Only those who have more than 4 hours a day and more than 30 days of free time can participate.

- We prefer those who love the sea and are truly interested in kite surfing.

■ Additional information

- Since the program allows you to learn and practice specialized skills in marine sports, we will prioritize responsible and diligent individuals.

- Based on participants' opinions, the program duration and future activities can be discussed with the organization.

The organization running this course has a private beach where you can see Seongsan Ilchulbong and Udo at the same time, making kite surfing safe and relaxed.

On windless days, you can enjoy various water sports like paddle boarding and scuba diving at the private beach, which is a big advantage of this place.

Behind the shop, there is a cafe and lounge area with a great view of Jeju beach, allowing the staff and visitors to relax and enjoy the beautiful sea.

■ Recommended Travel Destinations

1. Seongsan Ilchulbong

Seongsan Ilchulbong was formed by magma erupting underwater, unlike other hills in Jeju. The sediment layers near the sea have been eroded by waves and currents, making it steep. At first, it was an island separated from the mainland, but sand and gravel piled up to create a path that connects it to the land. Now, it is fully connected to the mainland. The steep stairway to the top may leave you breathless, but in just 20 minutes, you can reach the summit, so give it a try.

2. Saryeoni Forest Path

The Saryeoni Forest Path is a place where you can deeply inhale the scent of cedar trees. This spot corresponds to the 6th course of Hallasan Mountain's trail and is a long stretch of 15km. The forest path is home to many trees like Japanese cedar and is a great place for trekking. Experience the atmosphere of the Saryeoni Forest and feel the phytoncides coming from the forest all over your body. It's also famous for being a wedding photo spot, so make sure to take some beautiful pictures here.

3. Jeju Olle Trail

The 'Olle' is a walking tour route developed from good walking paths in Jeju. In the Jeju dialect, it means a narrow path from the front door to the main road. The first course was developed in 2007, and now there are 26 courses totaling 425km. Each course is usually within 15km, and it takes about 5 to 6 hours to walk. The paths connect coastal areas, alleys, mountain trails, countryside paths, and seaside walks, and there are also routes that circle small islands around Jeju. If you visit Jeju, consider walking at least one course of the Olle. You can buy a passport at the Olle information center and enjoy filling it with stamps too.
