This is a schedule to learn about Gokseong for 20 days, plan a festival for 9 days, and then hold the festival for one day.

Conditions for festival planning

• The theme must not be repeated with ones that have already been done in Gokseong.

• It must be done.

* Since this project allows a lot of freedom for participants, we will select those with a proactive attitude first.

* This project starts on the 1st of every month, and participants can join from the 1st.

Q. Can I really plan for 9 days? It looks tough, and I'm already feeling lost and worried. A. It’s normal to face difficulties during the project! If you find it hard to continue, actively ask for help, and many staff members on-site and the experienced PD in charge will assist you. :)

Part 1. 20: Slowly getting into Gokseong.

For 20 daysyou will stay in Gokseong, soak in its charm, and develop your own view of Gokseong.

These activities mean living freely in Gokseong.

Part 2. 9: Creating My Own Gokseong Festival

Introduction to the project host Producer Hong Su-jin Producer Hong Su-jin, who is directly responsible for this project, worked as a tourism producer in Gokseong from 2014 to 2018 for about five years. Having grown up in Busan, she fell in love with the charm of Gokseong’s features and life in the village, which led her to settle there. To further promote the local charm, she started her activities as a tourism producer. One of her main activities was the ‘Community Travel Agency,’ created with local residents, which led to various experimental and unique tourism programs and festivals that showcased the local colors known only to the residents. After her work as a tourism producer, she now continues to engage in a broader range of activities as a regional tourism expert, primarily focusing on Gokseong and Jeollanam-do. If you want to come up with and realize ideas that reflect local colors, give it a try. Gokseong, which has hosted a variety of projects, is waiting for planners who will present their own ideas. Tourism DuRe Project: This project supports local residents to produce and sell various resources that have unique regional characteristics. Tourism DuRe Producer: This role is vital in the Tourism DuRe project. They help to discover and organize local businesses, enhance their capabilities, improve management, and build networks, providing close support based on local conditions.

Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do

Gokseong-gun is located in the northeast of Jeollanam-do. It has plains developed around the Seomjin River and many winding valleys. The name ‘Gokseong’ means ‘many valleys'. In the past, there were some bad people who would rob others, so the area was also called ‘Gokseong’ which means ‘crying voices’. This place became the background for the movie 'Gokseong', which drew a lot of attention, but unlike the movie's dark atmosphere, it is a warm and cozy place. In May, you can enjoy a rose garden in full bloom and a train trip that brings back old feelings. This spot is very popular with families and all ages.

Visiting hidden treasures that many have yet to find while tasting local specialties like sweet crab, eel, and taro makes a trip to Gokseong even more enjoyable.

The participation period for this project is at least 4 weeks.

• Foreigners aged 19 and older
• who have a strong interest in local culture, resources, and tourism
• those interested in organizing events, performances, festivals, and cultural arts
• those who want to experience the charm of Gokseong and enjoy creating a project
• those who wish to realize a desired project within a limited time

Guidelines

• Volunteers should lead the project on their own, so please take an active and independent approach.
• When filling out the application, please write your project idea as clearly as possible.
• The 'festival' in this project is a mandatory process that must be carried out.

1. This project is for participants over the age of 19. It is a project that allows foreign participants.

2. There are no refunds after the project is confirmed due to personal reasons of the participants.

3. Participants are considered to agree to the refund policy when applying for the project.
