Project introduction

1. Take a break from your busy life and relax slowly in Paju.
Explore the local places in Paju and discover the local ingredients and countryside scenery. Instead of rushing around, spend a whole day at one place and enjoy a slow travel experience.
Walk in a new neighborhood, enjoy delicious food together, and feel the night air of Paju while listening to music by the campfire.
This trip is not about doing a lot. It's a time to slow down and experience daily life in Paju closely.
2. Enjoy seasonal food from Paju, makgeolli, and a campfire.
Dinner on the first day is not just a meal, but one of the important experiences of this trip.
Taste barbecued dishes prepared with seasonal ingredients from Paju along with makgeolli, and after the meal, enjoy a campfire and music.
You can talk with other participants by the campfire or just relax and watch the flames. The rural night sky and warm lights create a comforting atmosphere that is hard to find in the city.
Through one meal and a cup of makgeolli, you will naturally remember the seasons and vibes of Paju.
3. The next day, try making makgeolli that reflects your taste.
After breakfast, move to the brewing space and think about the flavor of your favorite makgeolli.
Decide on the desired flavors like sweet, fresh, or heavy, then touch the ingredients and brew the makgeolli.
At the end, name your homemade makgeolli and leave a short story about it. The result you created will make the memories of your trip last longer.
The food, night, and homemade makgeolli from Paju connect together to complete the story of your 1-night, 2-day trip.
Eat well, rest comfortably, and finally try making your own makgeolli.
Project activities
■ Project Activities
Spending a day and a night in Paju (September 19-20) exploring local spaces, tasting seasonal food and makgeolli, enjoying the rural night, and then making my own makgeolli.
On the first day, we will slowly explore the local spaces in Paju to feel the area's vibe. After that, we will stay at a guesthouse and enjoy BBQ and makgeolli made with seasonal ingredients from Paju.
In the evening, there will be a campfire and music. We can share stories by the fire or relax quietly while enjoying the night in Paju.
The next day, after breakfast, we will move to the brewing space. After deciding on the flavor of my favorite makgeolli, I will handle the ingredients and brew it myself. At the end, I will give my makgeolli a name.
Though it's a short trip, the spaces, food, night scenery, and making of makgeolli in Paju will come together as one travel story.

About the organization
This project takes place in a brewing space based in the countryside of Paju, connecting traditional drinks, agriculture, and the local people and places.
It's not just a place that makes alcohol; it connects local produce, traditional drinks, lodging, and local experiences, allowing visitors to stay in Paju and experience everyday life in the area.
We think it is important to connect local products made by residents, village lodging, and cultural content into one trip, so that visitors' experiences and spending benefit the community.
Making alcohol while experiencing the people and places of Paju up close.
This 1-night, 2-day trip was also created as an extension of that local experience.

City travel information
■ Location: Paju, Gyeonggi-do
Paju, where the project takes place, is a city where you can experience traditional liquor and a rural atmosphere, along with peace, art, and nature. If you explore the main spots in Paju before and after the program, you can enjoy a more fulfilling one-night, two-day trip.
1. Heyri Art Village | A cultural village where art and taste come together.
This is Paju's main cultural and artistic space, filled with galleries, museums, bookstores, small theaters, cafes, and workshops. You can enjoy the fun of walking slowly through the buildings and alleys, seeing exhibitions, and finding your favorite spots.
2. Imjingak Peace Park | A view of peace that can only be found in Paju.
This place well shows Paju's history and local characteristics. Walking through the wide Peace Park and Imjingak area, you can reflect on the history of division and the meaning of peace. It offers a different story of Paju, away from nature and cafe-centered travel.
3. Majang Lake | Nature healing through walking along the lake and forest.
This is Paju's main natural tourist spot, featuring a suspension bridge across the lake and a lakeside walking path. It’s perfect for a relaxed walk or rest while enjoying the view of the lake and forest, making it a great place to unwind after the program.
