You can learn the basics of running an orchard and see if rural living is right for you. This farm is run by a couple who settled in Bonghwa after leaving the city. The apples grown here are so popular that they are often fully booked before harvest. Participants can share the daily life on the farm, learn about the realities of farming up close, and take time to relax in the beautiful nature.

1. A relaxing daily life in a quiet village in Bonghwa.

The open natural scenery here calms the mind just by looking at it.In the morning, you can watch the sunrise over the mountains, and during the day, enjoy the apple orchards and mountain views right in front of your accommodation while spending leisurely time.At night, the dark village sky is filled with many beautiful shining stars.Come and enjoy a healing daily life while appreciating the beauty of nature in Bonghwa. 2. Learning about farming life by experiencing daily life on the farm.

A day at the apple farm starts very early. Residents take care of the apple trees in the morning, avoiding the strong sunlight during the day, and help with farm work. In the afternoon, you can rest or have personal time with activities like reading or walking.Participants help the farm owner care for the trees, assist in harvesting, sorting, and shipping, and learn about the real aspects of farming life.It will be a practical learning experience that helps you understand the process and the advantages and disadvantages of rural living through specific advice and hands-on experiences. You will also hear about the economic benefits of running an orchard and the various costs that come with it.

3. Various enjoyable activities in beautiful nature.

Near the farm, there is a large arboretum where you can enjoy walking and appreciating nature deep in the woods during your free time. You can experience the friendly life of a countryside village interacting with the lovely Jindo dogs.In the accommodation, you can enjoy leisure time watching movies or listening to music with a large screen, a projector, and a piano.You can also enjoy meals while looking at the mountain view from the outdoor terrace and barbecue area.Enjoy a farm stay filled with relaxation and enjoyment in beautiful nature.

Project activities

This is an experience project where you can closely participate in a day in the life of a real farmer in a beautiful apple farm in Bonghwa. By helping for 3 to 4 hours a day, you will learn about apple farming and hear real stories from the farm owner, allowing you to think practically about rural living. Experience a new life in a quiet and relaxing farmhouse in nature.

1) Experience and assist with apple farm work

- Watering, pruning, weeding, and thinning the apples.

- Farm maintenance and managing tools and equipment.

- Assist in harvesting, sorting, and packing apples.

- Learn the know-how of apple cultivation.

2)Discussing farming and rural living.

- Share real farming experiences from the farm owner's couple.

- Practical advice on initial settlement preparations and difficulties.

- Talk about the pros and cons of farming and rural living, and share success and failure stories.

3) Experience local life and farming.

- Experience a quiet rural village.

- Heal while enjoying mountain views and starlight.

- Use your time freely (visit nearby farms or explore Bonghwa tourist spots).

Additional Information

- Most farm work is done outside, so please check your basic fitness before participating.

- Accommodation in a pension-style place is provided, making it nice to participate with friends or family.

- Check-in time for the accommodation is at 3 PM, and check-out time is 11 AM.

About the organization

This apple farm is located on a quiet mountainside in Bonghwa, Gyeongbuk. A couple, who moved from the city over ten years ago, runs it themselves. They grow high-quality apples every year and have so much demand that they sell out even before harvest. The farm uses a close planting method with 4 meters between trees, which helps with organized management. The owner combines what they have learned about apple growing with their own experiences.

About the accommodation

You can stay in a pension-like accommodation located right in front of the farm. It offers private rooms along with a living room, kitchen, and terrace space. This place boasts a beautiful view of the Bonghwa mountain range and apple orchards, and it has a large screen, projector, and piano so you can watch movies or enjoy music while relaxing.
