1. A peaceful book village staying at the bookstore.

It's the only bookstore in Bonghwa County,surrounded by a grassy yard, a cafe, a women's clothing shop, and a pension, creating a small cultural village.Here, each day is filled with calm moments, filled with the sounds of the stream and fresh breezes. Wake up to the beautiful sound of birds in the morning and start your day with a warm cup of tea. You can experience the joy of sitting by the window, soaking up sunlight, enjoying the smell of coffee, while reading the books you've always wanted.

2. A special experience of becoming a bookstore keeper in a rural village.

It's like a scene from a movie, where you become a bookstore keeper in a peaceful countryside.During your stay, you will tidy up the bookstore and greet the guests. In the quiet afternoons with few visitors, you can sip warm tea and dive into reading with the mountains and stream visible through the bookstore window. The day of a bookstore keeper is not busy but is filled with simple joys. You can curate and display your favorite books, or plan a reading discussion for locals and visitors to share stories together. Experience the peaceful daily life created by books, people, and nature.

In front of the bookstore, a clear stream flows, and there are hills with seasonal wildflowers and quiet walking paths around.Experience some quiet time to focus on yourself away from the fast pace and various stimuli of the city.While listening to the sound of the stream, you can enjoy reading and writing, or meditate and walk in the shade, and your mind will naturally become calm.

Project activities

In the quiet village of Bonghwa, Gyeongsangbuk-do,we run a bookshop as part of a project that allows you to recover from daily stress and enjoy reading and relaxing in beautiful nature.The bookshop has about 3,000 books, including new releases, bestsellers, magazines, poetry books, and comics, available for both rental and purchase. Near the bookshop, you can also enjoy a large grassy yard, a women's clothing shop, and an unmanned café.


Project activities

You’ll spend relaxing time as a bookshop keeper in a shop cared for by the owner, who has worked as a Korean teacher for a long time. Depending on the participant's wishes, you can also plan and operate various experience programs beyond just running the bookshop.

1) Running the bookshop: You will recommend books to customers and experience the simple joys of being a bookshop keeper.

  • Organizing and curating books
  • Customer service as well as renting and selling books
  • Managing the guest book and book return box

2) Planning experience programs: If participants want, they can create small and special programs.

  • Supporting family relay writing programs
  • Planning and operating book talks and reading discussions
  • And any planning of your own

3) Healing in nature: You can focus on yourself by reading, writing, or meditating in the beautiful natural surroundings.

  • Trekking the Oksunbuseon Trail
  • Taking walks by the stream and resting in small gardens
  • Enjoying photo zones, camping sites, and clothing stores.

About the organization

This is a cultural space in a mountain village in Bonghwa, Gyeongsangbuk-do, with a bookstore, café, women's clothing shop, pension, campsite, and caravan. It was created by the owner, who was a Korean language teacher for a long time before retiring, to help people get closer to books without feeling burdened. The bookstore is filled with various genres of books that can be purchased or rented at reasonable prices. The inside of the bookstore has a warm and cozy atmosphere, so once you open a book, you can easily lose track of time. Time here is not rushed. On days when there are not many customers, you can freely read and reflect, or you can become friends with occasional visitors by talking about books.

About the accommodation

You can stay at the bookkeeper's accommodation next to the bookstore. It offers a private room and a living room with a kitchen, and the laundry facilities and bathroom are shared.

3. Bunchun Santa Village
Bunchun Santa Village is a 'Santa-themed' village that shines during the winter festival at the end of the year. The V-train heading to this place is a tourist train that slowly rides through the Nakdong River gorge, offering impressive views of the mountains and rivers. There are many fun activities, like VR experiences and a mini train, making it enjoyable for both kids and adults.
